Visit of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco to the United Kingdom

The month of August has been marked by the visit of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco to the United Kingdom. In the company of H.E. Mrs Evelyne Genta, He was invited for dinner at Holyrood Palace with T.R.H Prince Edward and Countess Sophie of Wessex and then attended, at The Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which is a world-renowned festival of military music and parade taking place every year in August. The Prince’s “Orchestre des Carabiners” took part for the first time in this prestigious event.

The next day, in London, HSH Prince Albert attended the London World Athletics Championship at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadium in order to watch several competitions including the women’s 100 meter in which the young Monegasque athlete, Marie Charlotte Gastaud, ran. The Prince, H.E. Mr Bernard Fautrier and the Ambassador then visited the Natural History Museum where they discovered collections that are usually hidden from the general public. Several experts were able to present their research findings to the Monegasque delegation. Dr Neil Brummit, a biodiversity researcher, talked in particular about the project ‘Plants under pressure’ which is sponsored by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
