France announces a new “Red, Amber, Green” system that will come into effect on the 9th of June

Travelling to Monaco from the UK

The Embassy of the Principality of Monaco wishes to inform all Monegasque and British nationals and residents that the French Government has announced that as of Wednesday 9th June, a new “red, amber, green” classification system based on the current health situation of the country of departure and vaccination status of travellers.

The UK is currently in an 'Amber' zone which means that travel conditions are as follows:

France is currently accepting all vaccines which are recognised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA): Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

Proof of vaccination is valid only if it shows that the full course of the vaccine has been administered as follows:

  • 2 weeks after the 2nd injection for vaccines requiring two doses (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);
  • 4 weeks after the injection for single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson) ;
  • 2 weeks after the vaccine for people who have previously had COVID-19 (only 1 injection needed).

 

How to prove you are fully vaccinated:

       1. Through the mobile app "NHS App"

Please note the "NHS App" is different from the NHS Covid-19 app

        2. Via the NHS website: https://www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login

If you cannot prove your vaccination status via the app, please visit the NHS website and register now to access your status online. You can then download and print your PDF document.

        3. By calling 119

If you cannot download the NHS app or access the NHS website, you can call 119 and ask for a letter about your vaccination status, which you will be sent by post. You should receive your NHS letter within seven days.

Travelling to the UK from Monaco

Under current guidelines in England, France and Monaco are placed in the Amber list category:

Before you travel to England you must:

 

On arrival in England you must:

  • quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days
  • take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8
