On the occasion of the Commonwealth celebrations, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco travelled to London to take part in the events marking this day, a symbol of the historical ties and ongoing cooperation among the nations of the Commonwealth.
The Sovereign Prince first attended the official service at Westminster Abbey, in the presence of H.M. King Charles III, members of the British Royal Family, government representatives, as well as numerous figures from the diplomatic community and Commonwealth countries. This solemn ceremony, featuring readings, speeches by young representatives from Commonwealth nations, and musical performances, highlighted the values of solidarity, diversity, and dialogue among peoples.
Following the service, H.S.H. Prince Albert II held a private audience with H.M. King Charles III at St James’s Palace. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the longstanding friendship between the Principality of Monaco and the United Kingdom, as well as shared interests including environmental issues and international cooperation, areas in which both Sovereigns are deeply committed.
The day continued with a reception bringing together heads of delegations, representatives of Commonwealth countries, and invited guests. This moment of exchange and conviviality celebrated the spirit of collaboration uniting these nations and strengthened the bonds between their respective partners.
Through His participation in these celebrations, H.S.H. Prince Albert II reaffirmed the importance the Principality of Monaco places on international dialogue and on the enduring friendship with the United Kingdom.
