The Cambridge Union Society is a debating society and the largest society at the University of Cambridge. As the oldest continuously running debating society in the world, it has served as a model for the foundation of similar societies at other prominent universities such as the Oxford Union and the Yale Political Union. The Cambridge Union Society has hosted prestigious political and other figures including the Dalai Lama, President Ronald Reagan and Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

H.S.H. Prince Albert was welcomed to the Cambridge Union Society by its President, Mr Charles Connor  and its speaker, Mr Muhammed Khan. This was followed by a visit of the Trinity and St John’s Colleges with members of the Cambridge Union Society. His Highness then gave a speech where He highlighted the urgent action that needs to be taken in order to avoid irreversible tragedies in the world’s oceans caused by plastic pollution and climate change. He highlighted that the Ocean plays a major role in balancing the weather and climates of our Planet as protection of the oceans and prevention of climate change go hand in hand. His Highness added that the Ocean is now endangered and that it is our duty to save our planet by implementing a sustainable form of development in order to protect our seas and thus preserve their wealth. H.S.H. Prince Albert called for urgent actions by making it our responsibility now to work together in order to find a global solution to save our future. He then answered questions from the students.

The students and H.S.H. Prince Albert then enjoyed a drink together at the Society’s pub. Later that evening, His Highness attended a Private dinner with the Committee of the Cambridge Union Society in the company of H.E. Mrs Evelyne Genta and H.E. Mr  Fautrier. The next day, H.S.H.
