The Embassy of the Principality of Monaco would like to inform all Monegasque nationals and residents that the British government has announced new rules for entering the UK which will come into effect on the 8th of June 2020. This will apply to both UK residents and visitors.

From the 8th of June, if you’re travelling to the UK you will be required to fill in an online form before travelling in order to provide your journey and contact details including the UK address where you plan to self-isolate for first 14 days upon your arrival.

The British government will use this information to contact you if you or someone you’ve travelled with develops coronavirus symptoms and to check that you’re self-isolating for the required 14 days. Further details have been highlighted on the government’s official website: www.gov.uk/uk-border-control

The form can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

Upon entering the UK, you may be asked to show the completed form to the border authorities. Refusal to fill in the form may incur a fine and you may also be refused entry into the UK.

During your stay in the UK you may be also encouraged to download the new National Health Service app designed to ‘track and trace’ coronavirus. The app works by alerting its users if they have been in proximity to people who have since reported symptoms. The NHS COVID-19 app  can be downloaded here: covid19.nhs.uk
